Wiring Loom

This will connect the new W8 Interior light to the existing car switch; without the need for cutting any current wiring in the car. You'll need a 6Pin Plug, 3Pin Plug and the necessary wiring.

You'll need to put the 2 wires in pin numbers 1,3,4 & 5

(If you're wondering how 2 wires go into 4 pins its because you fold the wire and use both ends - as both ends have the required connection; then you cut them to length.)

Wire '1' is a much longer wire to the rest, it will need to be run all the way to near the fuse box. There's more information on connecting this further down the page.

 The car's plug has 3 wires with the following colours (Blue/White, Brown, and finally Blue/Red)  The trick is to make sure the wire coming from the '6Pin Plug' into the '3Pin Plug' correspond to the correct wire colour in the car plug (as shown on the diagram at the top of this page). This is how they should be:

Number '3' from above ends up on the 'Blue / White' wire in the car

Number '4' from above ends up on the 'Brown' wire in the car

Number '5' from above ends up on the 'Blue / Red' wire in the car

3Pin Plug

For the 3Pin Plug, you'll need to put the wires in all 3 pins as show on the right and then make the 'wiring loom' using the method described above.

(You should only have 2 wires to work with but as before just fold the wire and use both ends - as both ends have the required connection; then you cut them to length)

Wire 1 is connected to the 'Purple' wire (nearest the brown wire) on the Dimmer Light (aka Headlight adjustment unit). With this option the lights will NOT dim when using the dimmer.
